What the heck?!?!

Lily and Mary Catherine were sitting down at church today, when Mary Catherine exclaimed, "What the heck?" Lily, shocked, said "Oh, Mary Catherine, don't use the Lord's name in Maine!" Louisiana, but not Maine!! Got to love that girl. Such good advice.

So, yesterday we were on our way to the church Christmas Party, and I was telling Zack about Oprah that day. I was telling him about these people who had gastric bypass surgery and ended up becoming alcoholics. I was just about to tell him what that was called, when Mary Catherine pipes up from the back seat, and says, "It's called erectile dysfunction!" What!?!?! She didn't just say that did she? Of course, everyone older than her busted up. She then said, "that is so funny." To which I replied, "not nearly so funny as it will be when you find out what it means." No clue. Trully one of the funniest things we have heard. I'm so glad that even with that all over tv, my 13, almost 14, year old does not know what it means. It takes a little of the edge off. Gotta love her!!

Go Mitt

Today, Mitt gave an address about his faith and how it would affect his presidency. He was perfect. He made what was a really difficult topic seem easy. I couldn't help but think that he sounded like he was bearing his testimony, complete with a little tearing up. It was great, though. He is just the man to lead this country. I worry sometimes that it seems like it would be so great for the church, but then I think, maybe not! But any exposure just opens the door for someone to find out more.

Taylor called it!!

Ok, so last Saturday, following LSU's disappointing second triple overtime loss to Arkansas, Taylor stood and declared that there was still a chance! Still a chance?!?! Taylor you are crazy, we all said. But, Taylor has called them all season. Taylor predicted which team had to lose and how that could happen. And, yesterday, everything fell into place. How amazing!! LSU IS going to the National Championship Game in New Orleans. Geaux Tigers!

We looked online for tickets and even though we were very tempted, we decided that over $2000 for six of us to see one game would indeed be ridiculous and irresponsible. Taylor said that he would take it as his only gift for Christmas. But, we can't do that! Instead, we will have a party here at our house for the game. So fun.

In other news...
Alex and Zack taught Lily's class today in Primary. She was so excited and proud. She kept answering their questions with strange stories about she and Emma. She, also, gave her first talk in Primary. We forgot, of course, until the middle of Sacrement Meeting. So, I quickly wrote a talk and she practiced it the rest of the meeting, to every member of the family. She rotated laps and had everyone help her until she really knew it pretty well. Of course, she froze when she got up there. Oh well, and we were soooo prepared,.....not.

Just realizing againg tonight how much I love my family. They are all great people.

I woke up this morning running a 100 degrees fever....finally. I felt feverish on Thursday, but would not let myself stop unless I actually had one, silly, I know. So, today, I was vindicated when I realized I really did have one. But, no stopping. I had to be a church. Took some Ibuprofen and went on. I feel better this evening. Thank goodness for meds!

Hi,Sarah Beth[:

This is Sarah Elizabeth Zachary. Well, Sarah Beth. Right now we are waching the Saints vs. Tampa Bay. We ,"The Saints", are winning but only by one. Although, It's only the 1st half so we can get ahead by even more.

It was Church Today. And in Primary we had the Priest take over classes that had the techers. So the ladies could go to a meeting. Although, my teacher is a boy so we had the same person, unfortually.

I can't wait till Christmas. It is the best season ever. I want under armour, LSU stuff, Saints stuff, and more.

Well, I don't have any thing else to say so i'll say toodles.haha[:

I have the cutest sweetest kids in the world

Driving home from a meeting tonight I called home and Mary Catherine told me that Emma came up to her tonight with a Santa Clause that she started at school and finished at home and said that Mary Catherine's Secret Santa told her(emma) to give this to her. Wonder who that is? Then Lily gave Zack a stick on earring sticker and told him that his Secret Santa told her to give it to him. ???!!! They are so sweet and excited about being Secret Santa's. I hope they are learning great lessons of service and the excitement of giving. I think they really are. I love that Mary Catherine thought it was so cute that she wanted to tell me about it. She loves those s so much.

I have gotten from my SS a note on the mirror in my bathroom. I just love it. Also, when I got home from the meeting, Sarah Beth had cleaned the kitchen thoroughly. I appreciate her so much. She has been trying so hard. She had a rough start in middle school, but she has really buckled down and is doing so much better. She wants to be successful and is really proud of herself.

Alex has been working on his essay for his application to BYU. He is finding it difficult to "toot his own horn." He is doing a good job, though. I'm so proud of him.

Taylor is already in bed tonight. I only saw him for about 20 minutes today. I don't like not seeing him.

Zack went to Houma today and back by 4:00. I don't know how he does that. I would be worn out. He has to go to Beaumont in the morning.

Going to lunch for Susan's and my birthday tomorrow. Should be fun. 37 is absolutely no different that 36 that is for sure. But, I'm happy to celebrate just the same!

Mary C :]

Hi. This is Mary Catherine, the cool daughter. This is actually rather awkward writing this considering the fact that Sarah Beth and Taylor are watching every word I write. Oh, and after the family preceded to make a joke out of my blogging skills, Taylor informed me that blogs are for free expression NOT for good impression. That made me laugh.

Anyways, my mother has decided to start to use the least amount of electricity possible. So, it's basically freezing in this household. The weather has been rediculously low for the past few days. Well, for Southwest Louisiana anyways. If you plan to sit on our couch and comfortably watch some pleasant television, think again, because you will deffinitely feel the need for a blanket and perhaps some heavy winter clothing.

Sarah Beth and I made some rolls. (I think I'll just stick with the frozen rolls in the future..) This procedure takes so long, I think it must have taken at least 4 hours.

Well, that's all :]

excellent thanksgiving

We had the best Thanksgiving holiday. We spent the week at Sam Houston Jones State Park. It was so fun. The Pogue's were our neighbors out there. Emma learned to start and stop on her bike. She was so proud and almost as proud as me. She looked so cute on that bike. I know she is almost 8, but treat her like a little bitty . Anyway, loved Sam Houston and hope we can go back another time.

Secret Blog

I'm slowly letting my family know that I have a blog. So, I told Sarah Beth yesterday. She said, "Why A to Z?" So, I thought I would explain. When Zack and I were dating we were at institute one night and he wrote in his scriptures,"A to Z". Not sure why I've always remembered that. Andrea to Zack and all things in between. So, it has a double meaning for us. We seem to cover a to z every day.

Emma had fever again this morning, but seems better now. Alex has realized that something he thought was mosquito bites is in fact poison ivy. It has spread to his arms. It was driving him crazy last night and this morning. So, after spreading lotion on, he put on tube socks and wore them to school this morning. He was so funny and such a cutie. I love that he has the confidence to do that. Great boy.

Lily was so excited today because she was having a "feast" at school. She wanted me to go, but I told her I couldn't because Emma was still sick. She then convinced her daddy that he had to go. She has him so wrapped. He brought her to school and went in to ask Mrs. Diane what time it would start. She informed him that is was students only. Big disappointment, but Lily talked him into going to the ballet production her class is going to next month. Unbelievable. When you need something done, give it to a 5 year old with big chocolate eyes.

Emma is a really sick . She went to the doctor yesterday. He thinks it is just a virus and will run its course. Meanwhile, we are on the second day of fever. She is really sweet when she is sick, though. Lots of luvin time. She and Lily have taken over the living room, playing games, painting, watching Brady Bunch (I love that they watch Brady Bunch), etc. Having a great time and loving missing 2 days of school already. She will have to miss tomorrow, too.

I made my first pumpkin pie tonight. Celebrating Alex's 29 on his ACT. He did great. We are so proud of him and excited for his future. I think the pie needed celebrating, too. Zack and I were reminiscing about our own ACT scores. Not as stellar as our son's.

Ok this blogging this is not as easy as it seemed.

We had a great weekend. It was Homecoming at Sulphur High. So, we had a parade on Friday that ruined my diet for the weekend. Back on track today, though. Mary Catherine went to the football game that night. We won, too. It was a great game and very close, 10-13.

so tired....

I am so extremely tired, today. Emma is home from school not feeling well.

Angela was on O'Reilly radio today. She called to talk about the Jena Six case and how the media has gone into this with an opinion before they even found out the facts. She was so nervous, but was excited to get a word out there. It is amazing to really see the bias the media first hand. Mama has been involved from the school board point of view and has said it is just not what the media makes it out to be. How do they get away with this? It makes me wonder what other reports have been incorrect. I'm sure it happens all the time. They use stories to further their agenda.

blogging heaven

I read an article in the paper today about a senior from a local high school who has had a blog for 3 years. I thought of all the things I could have written about in 3 years. I thought I could have had a journal, but I have been reading other people's blogs this whole time and still was not insprired to keep a journal. But, I have been tempted to blog.

I just walked 3 miles. Doesn't really seem to do any good, but it is nice outside.

I felt great today. I did my visiting teaching AND brought Lily to the park, all in one day. It was so nice. Park days just don't seem to happen or make much sense when you just have one child at home. Seems wasted. Poor Lily. Boring mom.

I took Emma to dance and soccer, tonight. She is really good at soccer. I love watching her.

Taylor wants me to buy him $150 shoes so he will try-out for soccer at the high school. I guess he can be bought and I am willing to purchase. He played all afternoon with a friend. He loves it.

I had to miss volleyball again, today. Emma's activities were at the same time. Zack went, though, and brought Lily with him. MC and SB are having a great time. They said it wasn't a fun game, though, because the other team was terrible. "They didn't even have knee pads!!!!!" Can you believe?
